25th September - Boston

Well 3 flights and almost 30 hours later we finally made it to our hotel in Boston.  After spoiling ourselves and flying business class this time, we didn’t feel as bad as we have in the past so I guess it was worth it!!!

We slept pretty well, so got up and hit the ground running this morning!  A quick breakfast and then we walked down to Boston Common and wandered through the park.  We had picked up some tickets for a Hop On Hop Off bus, so we then walked to the closest stop to wait for the bus.  After waiting more than 30 minutes and no bus turning up, and Wade being as patient as he is, we decided to start walking and pick up the bus at another stop.

Our walk took us past the Old State House, Boston Massacre Historic Site, Old South Meeting House, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, before heading towards the water to jump on the bus.  This time we got lucky and actually made it onto the bus!  We took it past a few stops and got off in Cambridge to head towards Harvard.  Harvard wasn’t exactly what we expected, it was more like its own little city, rather than what you expect of a college/university from watching movies.  The campus wasn’t really accessible, but we did walk through Harvard Square which was pretty cool.

After this we headed back to Cambridge Side Galleria Mall to pick the main bus back up again ad while we waited we had a wander through the shops (as you do)!  The bus then took us back to Boston, past Fenway Park and dropped us off at Quincy Market where we had a bit more of a wander.

It was a really overcast day in Boston today, and pretty chilly, and at this point it started to rain a little.  We made our way back towards our hotel (via Macy’s) and rested our feet for a little while.  Dinner tonight was a seafood feast - clam chowder, calamari, lobster and seafood casserole.  As usualy, we overdid and it now can hardly move!

Here are some pictures from today:
