13th May - Orlando (Disney World)

After a late night last night, we had a bit of a sleep in this morning and didn't get up until 8.30am (anyone who knows me knows that is a huge sleep in!!).  Once we got sorted, we headed off to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The Toy Story ride here is really popular and by the time we got to the park at 9.30 it already had a 40 minute wait (by the time we left the wait time was up to 80 minutes).  Disney have a Fast Pass system where you can get a ticket for a particular ride that gives you a one hour window to return.  When you return, you get to go through a separate line and basically straight onto the ride.  Our first stop in the park was to pick up our Fast Pass for this ride (our return time ended up being between 1pm and 2pm).  We then headed over to our favourite ride - Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and pretty much walked straight on.  It was as good as ever and we will definitely be back to ride this a few more times before we leave!! While we were in a thrill ride mood, the next stop was Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.  After this we wandered around a bit and took some photos and video.  There is a section called "Streets of America" where there a heap of different building facades, similar to what are used in the movies.  Once we had walked through here, we went on the Studio Backlot Tour, and then had some lunch.

By the time we had finished lunch it was basically time to go on the Toy Story ride.  This ride is a 3D Midway style game where you shoot at targets and score points.  Wade won again (of course) but I wasn't too far behind this time!!  I think our scores were 144,000 v 120,000, the person in our section with the most points had over 300,000 (I think we need more practice)!!

We came back to the hotel for a rest (it gets too hot to be out after lunch) and then went to Downtown Disney for dinner.  They have some really amazing Lego displays here, so we took a few photos before heading to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner.  After this we did a bit of shopping in the Disney stores and took some night shots (there was a beautiful sunset tonight).

Here are some photos from today:
